Bee Says Goodbye to Dublin

Hello all – I’m writing to you this time from back home in the states. I have settled back in, unpacked my bags and put all of my new souvenirs on their shelves. Naturally, after two months away I was very happy to get home, I missed my family, friends and especially my cat. It’s wonderful to enjoy the simple comforts of my own bed, foods I can only get here and doing massive loads of laundry and chucking them into the dryer; though, as the days go on I find myself missing a lot of Ireland. The people I met in Dublin feel so far now, and no longer do we exist in the same hour. I miss the million shades of green and the rich historic architecture – I even miss the Luas, especially when it’s been a long day and I really wish I didn’t have to drive home.

Working for Flavour Trails was a life changing experience for me and I feel so fortunate to have been able to experience Ireland with them and to have had such wonderful people like Graínne and Lara there to guide me. I was able to explore, grow and learn so much in my short time with them about social media, graphic design, writing, history and a million and one more things. It was such a joy to be on tours and hear the stories and how each guide tells them a bit differently, visit restaurants and pubs I never would have found on my own, and meet so many amazing and kind people. I’m keen to now take the lessons and experiences with me. Home now, so far away, I see vividly why there are so many poems about missing the Emerald Isle.

Until next time, thanks a million.

Bee
